I co-built a 50k-user ride sharing product from zero

Udhë started as an active online ride-sharing community where rides were coordinated informally through posts and messages. As it grew, ride discovery became noisy, communication fragmented, and trust harder to maintain. The goal was to turn existing behavior into a reliable product without changing how people already thought about getting a ride.

Udhë started as an active online ride-sharing community where rides were coordinated informally through posts and messages. As it grew, ride discovery became noisy, communication fragmented, and trust harder to maintain. The goal was to turn existing behavior into a reliable product without changing how people already thought about getting a ride.

I studied how people actually organized rides in the community and turned those patterns into the core product flows. The product was designed around rides, not profiles: reducing discovery to a simple list, centralizing communication, and putting trust signals up front.

I studied how people actually organized rides in the community and turned those patterns into the core product flows. The product was designed around rides, not profiles: reducing discovery to a simple list, centralizing communication, and putting trust signals up front.

Design decisions were made under real constraints, which meant prioritizing clarity, trust, and shipping over feature completeness. We shipped early, iterated based on real usage, and avoided speculative features. At launch, over 90% of the existing community adopted the app with minimal usability issues, validating the core product decisions. Growth since then has been organic.

Today, Udhë has over 50,000 users, ~20,000 monthly active users, dozens of rides daily, and a 4.5+ star rating on both app stores.
